In the latest blog post, Apple announced that the company is reportedly planning to make some physical changes to the Apple Watch design; it might be in the year 2019.
According to sources, the wrist wearable’s digital crown and the accessible button could be squeezed as soon as this collapse, with the knowledge of Apple’s plans directly speaking to the Fast Company. In place of clicking the buttons, the next-generation Apple Watch will be using the touch-sensitive pads which are designed to pick up on finger movements of the users.
However, the move would emulate Apple’s shift with the iPhone 7 that embraced a solid-state design which is also used in touch-sensitive pads in favor of the traditional buttons.
Although the crown that the most people would think of as a watch’s side-mounted dial will still rotate, both it and also the button that places near it has no longer any click down. And the crown will still turn, but either by pressing the button, will automatically produce a faint vibration which is similar to the Apple’s other solid-state designs that use haptic feedback.
According to the source, the change in a solid-state design directly comes with a little benefit. Though no extra buttons mean that the fewer places for water to sneak inside the devices when the devices get wet. And also removing the bulky mechanical parts and also frees up some space inside the Apple Watch for a larger battery place.
The Fast Company’s report advises that the changes can be dignified in an announcement as early as this year, though it has not been happening until the 2019 Apple Watch is revealed.
